"Using Middle America as her muse, Kowch draws the history of a particular place -- invariably rural -- to the surface as it collides with a new reality in layers of metaphor and moodiness. The faces of her women may remind you of characters in a Tim Burton film."

Work featured in American Art Collector ArtHamptons Preview

I am very honored to be featured in American Art Collector once again, this time, in their previews of ArtHamptons 2010. This July issue is out now, so grab a copy wherever books and magazines are sold! Check out the article on my gallerist, Richard Demato and the gallery's future collaboration with Miami-based gallery 101/exhibit, which represents the likes of David Bowers, Bo Bartlett, and Mark Ryden among others, and see one of my new paintings, The Visitors, featured alongside the article!

Meanwhile, I am nearly finished wrapping up this latest body of work for my show, and am looking forward to taking a short, much needed break from all the long weeks spent painting full speed at the easel. I'll be posting all the new images at that time, as well as my thoughts behind each work here on the blog. Thanks again to all for your comments and support throughout as always! Hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! :)

Congratulations on your latest success, and continual growth and steady rise in the art world. I have a subcription to American Art Collector and these articles are quite illuminating. Your artwork does stand alone as something quite unique. Each new piece seems to compliment previous ones as they evoke the same ethereal quality that is somehow link to spirit, mystery and a form of eminant danger as if something is about to happen. A kind of tension that is rarely found in great art.

The thing is that you are not on your way to becoming a great artist.....you are already THERE!

Wow... to think I knew you "way back when"! Congrats again, but then good things happen to good people too. You've worked amazingly hard and you deserve this and all of the other accolades that will come your way.
