"Using Middle America as her muse, Kowch draws the history of a particular place -- invariably rural -- to the surface as it collides with a new reality in layers of metaphor and moodiness. The faces of her women may remind you of characters in a Tim Burton film."

"Sojourn" now housed in the GRAM's Permanent Collection

I am incredibly honored, humbled, and overjoyed to announce that Sojourn has been acquired by the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) where it will hang as part of the museum's Permanent Collection.

My deepest thanks to the GRAM and everyone involved. It's a big dream come true, and it's moments like these that fuel my desire to learn and make each new painting better than the last. Sojourn will be included in an upcoming exhibition at the GRAM in the near-future, and I will keep everyone posted of course! Stay tuned, and thanks again to all who are part of the journey and believe in what I do. It makes it that much more special!

You can check out the GRAM online, at http://www.artmuseumgr.org/
